HILLCREST – The Village of Hillcrest will move forward with another round of streets receiving a chip seal coating in 2025. At the Village Trustee meeting last week, they approved a plan, in cooperation with Ogle County, to spend $48,000 on their streets. They would be doing work on Hillcrest Avenue, Erett Road, Wayne Road, and Erickson Road, plus Powers Road from Scott Avenue to Hillcrest Avenue. Kaitlin Wright with Baxter & Woodman Inc. also presented estimates for grinding down and resurfacing all of Hillcrest Avenue for $290,000, but the trustees chose to not move forward with that at this time.
