Grand Opening Of Rockford’s Beyer Stadium Delayed

ROCKFORD  —  The grand opening of Rockford’s Beyer Stadium is being delayed.  The opening has been rescheduled for today. The original date of May 20th was moved due to an injury suffered by 99-year-old former player Maybelle Blair, who was a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in the late 40s.  Beyer Stadium is the former home of the Rockford Peaches, who were the subject of the iconic 1992 film “A League of Their Own.”
