Franklin Grove Summer Harvest Festival Set for July 31 Through Aug. 2

FRANKLIN GROVE — The Franklin Grove Summer Harvest Festival will return Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2, with village wide garage sales, an art show, a Big Rig Show, colonial reenactments, live music, antique equipment displays and other activities throughout the weekend. Chaplin Creek Village will feature tours of historic buildings, working blacksmiths, homemade pies, vendors and commemorative items, while Rooney’s will host a beer garden and live music Saturday evening. Sunday’s events include a community church service and additional living history demonstrations.

“We’ll have working blacksmiths on site again this year. We’ll be selling homemade pies out of Mables at the top of the hill, and we’ll also have a commemorative blanket raffle,” Franklin Grove Historical Society President Marilyn Spangler said.
