Rochelle Approves Resident Only Parking on Part of Ninth Avenue

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved a resident only parking zone for the south side of Ninth Avenue between Third Street and Main Street. The change came after residents raised concerns that employees, patients and visitors to Rochelle Community Hospital were using the limited on street parking, making it difficult for homeowners and their guests to find spaces near their homes. Because parking is allowed on only one side of the narrow street, the ordinance reserves those spaces for residents. Hospital staff and visitors are expected to use the hospital’s existing parking lots.
