Forreston Woman Killed In Ogle County Crash

FORRESTON — A 90-year-old Forreston woman was killed in a two vehicle crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of Springdale Road and Illinois Route 26 in rural Forreston. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at about 11:40 a.m. when a passenger vehicle driven by Darlene Brooks entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound semi-truck and trailer driven by a 67-year-old Leaf River man. Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ogle County Coroner’s Office. The semi driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstructionist Unit. The Forreston Fire Department, Polo Fire Department, and the Ogle County Coroner’s Office.
