SPRINGFIELD — Governor JB Pritzker has directed all persons and entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act to lower United States and Illinois flags to half staff Friday in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. Flags are to be lowered from sunrise to sunset Friday, May 15, at all buildings occupied by state personnel. This annual observance serves as a solemn tribute to the local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
