Fire Danger High Due to Gusty Winds and Dry Conditions

ROCHELLE – Gusty winds and dry conditions in northern Illinois will create a heightened fire risk today, especially along and south of I-88. With winds gusting up to 30 mph, and low humidity, conditions are ripe for fast-spreading fires. Residents are strongly advised to avoid outdoor burning, as dormant brush and grass are especially vulnerable to ignition.
