John Ossoff and Mark Kelly in reintroducing the Ban Congressional Stock Trading Act, which would require members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children to place stock holdings in a blind trust or divest them entirely. The legislation is designed to prevent lawmakers from using nonpublic information for financial gain and to improve public trust in government. Duckworth previously supported similar legislation in 2023 and continues to push for stronger ethics rules around financial activity by elected officials.
