Drivers Urged To Use Caution Around Farm Equipment

ROCHELLE  – Motorists are being reminded to use caution when sharing the road with slow moving farm equipment. The slow moving vehicle emblem indicates the equipment is traveling at a slow speed, while flashing amber lights signal caution. Drivers should avoid distractions, slow down, allow extra space and pass farm equipment only when it is safe and legal to do so. Passing is prohibited in no passing zones and within 100 feet of an intersection. Motorists are also reminded to be patient because farm equipment operators may not always be able to move over. If a driver cannot see the operator, the operator may not be able to see the vehicle because of the size of the equipment or a load blocking the rear view.
