POLO – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Illinois Route 52 and Freeport Road on Monday afternoon led to one driver being hospitalized and another cited for failing to yield. According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, a 55-year old New York man was driving an SUV north on Freeport Road when he allegedly failed to yield to a westbound SUV on Route 52, driven by a 72-year-old Iowa man. The Iowa man was taken to St. Katharine Hospital in Dixon, treated, and released, while the New York driver and his passenger were uninjured. He also received a citation for failure to yield right of way at an intersection.
