DeKalb Township to Host Free Event for Unclaimed Property and Utility Help

DEKALB — DeKalb Township will host a free walk-in event today from 2 to 6 p.m. at 2323 S. 4th St. to help residents with unclaimed property and utility bills. Representatives from ICASH, a division of the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, will assist attendees in identifying and filing claims for any unclaimed funds. Staff from the Citizens Utility Board will review utility bills, including gas, electric, phone and cable, to check for errors, overcharges and ways to reduce monthly costs. Residents are encouraged to bring a photo ID and recent utility bills. The event is free and open to all.
