Cut the Square Brings Summer Celebration to Downtown Rochelle Today

ROCHELLE – Cut the Square is taking place today from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Rochelle, bringing classic cars, food trucks, music, and community activities supported by the Flagg Township Museum and the Hub City Motor Club. Visitors can view cars, enjoy music from a DJ, take photos with a cardboard cutout of Rochelle native Joan Allen, and tour the museum. Director Jan Devore said, “It’s the high school thing to do, get in your car and cut the square and there’s 2 different opinions about where the squares actually were cut, but basically 6th, 7th Street up to 38 back down what is now Lincoln Highway and then Lincoln Avenue behind the museum.” The free event invites the public to take part in a local tradition and enjoy the downtown gathering.
