The Cubs beat the Padres 3-1 to advance to the National League Division Series. Michael Busch went three-for-four with a home run to lead the way for Chicago, while Pete Crow-Armstrong and Dansby Swanson drove in a run each.
Crow-Armstrong also had 3 hits in the game
Daniel Palencia picked up the win in relief and Andrew Kittredge earned the save. Jackson Merrill gave San Diego its only run on a solo homer in the top of the ninth inning.
Yu Darvish got the loss after allowing two runs in just one inning.
The Cubs will face the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS beginning Saturday.
