CRESTON – The Village of Creston is preparing to start construction on a long-planned storm water project, with bidding set to begin soon. Once a contractor is selected, construction is expected to start within a month and take a few weeks to complete, followed by about two weeks of cleanup. City Engineer Kevin Bunge said that even though the project is large, its impact to residents will be limited.
“So they’ll be in and out within about a month. And it’ll just be a disturbance in that one and a half blocks of town. So it shouldn’t affect people too badly’” he said.
The project, in discussion for 15 to 20 years, marks the first step in developing a broader storm water system for the village.
