OREGON – The City of Oregon is set to replace several aging vehicles across multiple departments, including Streets, Water and Sewer, and Police, as part of its capital vehicle replacement program. The plan includes purchasing a utility vehicle for the Water and Sewer Department, and two squad cars for the Police Department. It was also brought up last week that a new plow truck would help keep the streets clear fast enough for citizens during the winter. It normally takes crews about five hours to plow using three trucks. Due to rising costs and tariffs, city officials on Tuesday moved to secure pricing by placing earnest money down to lock in costs for some of the vehicles before the next fiscal year begins.
