OREGON — A house fire in the 8300 block of East Brick Road Wednesday evening destroyed a rural Chana home and left three residents displaced, according to fire officials. First responders were called around 5:20 p.m. along with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office. Oregon Fire Chief Michael Knoup said no people were injured, but one dog perished and another is reported missing. During the incident, deputies took 40-year-old Latasha D. Burgess into custody on an active warrant. The home was considered a total loss. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Oregon Fire Department was assisted by Stillman Fire, Rochelle Fire, Mount Morris Fire, Leaf River Fire, Lynn/Scott Rock Fire, Byron Fire, Polo Fire/EMS, Monroe Center Fire, Dixon City Fire, Pecatonica Fire, Steward Fire, Franklin Grove Fire, Dixon Rural Fire, Milledgeville Fire, MD-1, and the Illinois State Fire Marshall.
