SHANNON – An opportunity to donate life-saving blood will be coming to Shannon today. The Rock River Valley Blood Center will be at the Bethel United Methodist Church from 1 PM to 6 PM today. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said that area residents can step up and help community members in need.
“It’s so simple and easy. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to come in and do a whole blood donation. The actual blood donation itself is only 5 to 10 minutes too, so that’s super easy and quick,” she said.
“You can just walk into one of our mobile blood drives or one of our sites, or you can call us or go online and make an appointment.”The Bethel United Methodist Church is located at 217 S. Hickory St, Shannon. Donation times can be reserved at RRVBC.org, but walk-ins are always welcome.
