BYRON — The Rock River Valley Blood Center will host a blood drive today at Stillman Bank, 608 W. Blackhawk Drive in Byron, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said they appreciate the community support.
“We’re so grateful for all the businesses and organizations in our area that partner with us to throw amazing blood drives. That is a huge portion of the blood that we collect, and it’s so important that we have those blood drives to make sure that people in the hospitals get the blood that they need,” Anderson said.
The blood center, which supplies 14 hospitals in northern Illinois, is encouraging residents to donate to help maintain local blood supplies during the summer months. Donors should bring a photo ID.
