SPRINGFIELD — Illinois ended fiscal year 2026 with all General Revenue Fund bills paid and a cash balance of $1.545 billion, according to Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza. It is the fifth straight year the state has finished the fiscal year with no pending General Revenue Fund bills. The Rainy Day Fund received more than $161 million during the past fiscal year and is expected to reach nearly $2.7 billion by the end of fiscal year 2027. Mendoza also plans to make early pension payments again in July.
