Bishop Hill to Host Free Colonial America Program

BISHOP HILL — The Bishop Hill Heritage Association will host a free program about Colonial America on Saturday at the Steeple Building Museum in Bishop Hill. The one hour presentation will begin at 1 p.m. at 103 North Bishop Hill Street and will be led by Barry Grove, a former teacher and administrator from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The program will cover daily life in the colonies before the Revolutionary War, including topics such as chores, clothing, trades, medical practices, and social structure. Officials said the event is part of a series marking the nation’s 250th birthday and is open to the public.
