Bill Seeks to Return Solar Project Control to County Governments

SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Adam Niemerg has introduced House Bill 4078, a proposal that would restore regulatory control of solar energy developments to county governments. The bill responds to concerns from constituents who say they lack input on projects in their communities. Current state law gives counties limited authority over the approval and regulation of solar farms. The measure has been filed and is awaiting assignment to a legislative committee.
