Barn Fire Extinguished in Lee County

AMBOY – Fire departments from Sublette, Amboy, Dixon City and Rural, and Rock Falls, along with Advance EMS and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, responded early Monday to a barn fire south of Route 30 on Dively Road near Sublette. Fire crews quickly laid lines and brought the fire under control within seven minutes while protecting an adjacent building and preventing the fire from spreading to a nearby shed. As units were on scene, a second structure fire was reported in Dixon, and crews were redirected to respond. Firefighters remained on both scenes until just before 4 a.m. extinguishing hotspots.
