Hyundai Translead Plans Will County Facilities Bringing Nearly 2500 Jobs

JOLIET — Governor JB Pritzker announced Monday that Hyundai Translead will build new trailer manufacturing facilities in Will County, bringing nearly 2500 full time jobs and investing about 450 million dollars in Illinois. The company, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, plans to locate the facilities at former industrial sites including a previous Caterpillar operation and a former Lion Electric location. State officials said the project strengthens Illinois as a destination for advanced manufacturing and adds to recent business investments across the state. The company is participating in a state economic development program and has committed to creating at least 2475 jobs as part of the agreement. Officials said the project is expected to support workforce development and expand manufacturing opportunities in Will County and surrounding areas.
