ROCHELLE — The 3rd annual Battle of the Badges will take place Saturday, October 4, at 5 p.m. at the Flight Deck, where the Rochelle Police Department will face off against the Rochelle Fire Fighters in a best-of-three sand volleyball match. Rochelle Fire Chief Dave Sawlsville said he knows why his team should be favored to win.
“Just diligence, discipline, and superior physical conditioning,” he said.
Rochelle Police Chief Pete Pavia said the Fire Department may have the advantage.
“Just remember, they sleep all night, so it’s easier for them to be rested,” he noted
The free community event doubles as a fundraiser for Focus House.
