DeKalb Council to Consider Solar Project Monday

DEKALB — The DeKalb City Council will review a petition from Donato Solar to annex 30 acres along Peace Road for a 4-megawatt solar array and two 6,000-square-foot data storage buildings tonight. The request includes rezoning from Single-Family Residential to Planned Development Industrial. The site has an 80-foot vegetative buffer, and the nearest home is about 265 feet away. The project connects to Ameren’s grid, includes battery storage, and is designed to provide renewable energy and lower utility costs. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak Street.
