(Seattle, WA) — The United States’ World Cup run is over. The team crashed out of the Round of 16 against Belgium following a 4-1 loss from Seattle.
America conceded a goal less than 10 minutes into the match, but Malik Tillman scored his second free kick of the tournament to tie things up in the 31st-minute.
The Stars and Stripes allowed a goal just 61 seconds afterward, and a horrible misplay by goalkeeper Matt Freese spotted Belgium a 3-1 lead and effectively ended the game.
The U.S. still hasn’t made the quarterfinals of the World Cup since 2002.
