ROCHELLE — Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, has made its annual $25,000 pledge to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation to support local nonprofit organizations.
Mike Graham, executive vice president and chief financial officer, said the company believes in supporting the communities where it operates. “So we think it’s important that you give back to the community. It helps the community, it helps the recruitment. It helps the satisfaction of our employees here because we’re taking care of them and their families,” Graham said.
The donation is invested in the foundation endowment fund and distributed through community needs grants. Emily Anaya, executive director of the foundation, said the ongoing partnership is meaningful. “It’s huge and, and I appreciate that they trust the community foundation to put that money where it has the greatest impact,” Anaya said.The Rochelle Area Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that connects donors with local causes to support community nonprofits and create a vibrant, sustainable Rochelle area.
