ROCKFORD – An inmate at the Winnebago County Jail is dead following a fall over the weekend. Authorities say Holland Morefield Junior died after what investigators called an apparent suicide attempt on Saturday morning. He went to a second-floor balcony and climbed over the railing before falling to the first floor below. His death is under investigation.
