United Way Day of Caring Brings Volunteers to Lee and Ogle Counties

DIXON — More than 125 volunteers pitched in across Lee and Ogle Counties on Saturday for the annual Day of Caring, completing 23 projects in just one morning. The group logged more than 200 hours of service, tackling tasks such as painting, landscaping, cleanup and organizing at places like the Dixon Historic Theatre, Franklin Creek Conservation Association, Woodlawn Arts Academy, Habitat for Humanity of Ogle County and Bread of Life Food Pantry. The event brought together community members to support local nonprofits, schools, parks and public spaces.
