UConn Beat Illinois 71-62 In The Semi-Finals Of The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament

(Indianapolis, IN) — The UConn Huskies are heading to the NCAA men’s basketball championship game after beating the Illinois Fighting Illini in the semifinals. The Huskies secured a 71-to-62 win in the Final Four, with center Tarris Reed Junior leading the charge with 17-points. Star freshman Braylon Mullins put up 15-points in the winning effort.
UConn is seeking its third championship under head coach Dan Hurley since 2023. They are now (34-5) for the season.
Illinois had a final record of (28-9) as they were making their 6th appearance at the Final 4.
Freshman All-American guard Keaton Wagler led the Illini with 20 points.
UConn will play Michigan in the Championship Game on Monday night. The Wolverines beat Arizona 91-73 in the second semi-final game.
Michigan is now (35-3) for the season.
