DIXON – Construction on U.S. 30 in Lee County will begin this week, weather permitting, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. The project, located west of Atkinson Road between Interstate 88 and Illinois 26, includes replacing a drainage culvert and will require a full 10-day closure of U.S. 30, with a posted detour using Illinois 26 and I-88. Additional work will involve daytime lane closures with flaggers. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August. Drivers should use caution and follow posted signs in the area.
