MONROE CENTER – Two semis crashed around 11 a.m. Friday on I-39 near mile marker 112, before the construction zone. One semi sustained heavy front end damage and grain spilled onto the roadway. The highway was temporarily closed while emergency crews cleared the grain and removed the damaged trucks. Both drivers declined transport to a hospital. Monroe Township Fire and Ambulance Protection District was assisted by Lynn Scott Rock Fire and EMS, the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Cherry Valley Police Department, Illinois State Police, and IDOT.
