Two Rock Falls Residents Seriously Injured in Three Vehicle Crash Near Dixon

DIXON — Two Rock Falls residents suffered life threatening injuries in a three vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Lowell Park Road and Timber Creek Road in rural Dixon. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 2:53 p.m. when a southbound motorcycle driven by a 70-year-old Rock Falls man collided with a northbound van. The motorcycle passenger, a 66-year-old Rock Falls woman, was also injured. The vehicles then struck a third vehicle that was stopped on Timber Creek Road. The male motorcyclist was taken to OSF St. Katherine Hospital in Dixon before being airlifted to OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. The female passenger was airlifted from the scene to Rockford. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
