Two Injured in Malta Crash

MALTA  — Two people were injured Sunday evening when a car allegedly failed to stop at an intersection in Malta and was struck by a pickup truck, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say a 37-year old Crestwood man was driving east on Fairview Drive around 5:11 p.m. when he allegedly ran a stop sign at University Road and his Honda Accord was hit on the passenger side by a Ram truck driven by a 19-year-old Malta man. The Crestwood man and his 33-year-old passenger were taken along with a juvenile passenger to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital with injuries. No other injuries were reported.
