Two Charged After Fight on Rochelle Overpass, Third Man Faces Stolen Vehicle Charge

ROCHELLE  — Two men were charged with felony offenses and a third man was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle following a fight on the North Seventh Street overpass Saturday morning, according to the Rochelle Police Department. Police said officers responded about 11:30 a.m. Saturday to multiple 911 calls reporting two vehicles stopped on the overpass above the railroad tracks and a physical altercation in progress. Officers found 41-year-old Shane T. Hooper of Rockford, suffering from several injuries. He was taken to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment. Investigators determined a prior incident in another jurisdiction allegedly led to the confrontation. Darius Foster, 38, of Rockford and Jordan C. Clark, 22, of Rockford, were each charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, a Class 3 felony, and mob action, a Class 4 felony. Both were transported to the Ogle County Jail pending court appearances. Hooper was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, a Class 2 felony, and driving while his license was revoked, a Class A misdemeanor. He was released with a notice to appear.
