Trump Admin Temporarily Unfreezing Chicago Transit Funding

CHICAGO –  A judge is ordering the Trump administration to temporarily unfreeze billions in funding for rail projects in Chicago.  The city called the funding suspension an unlawful act of political retaliation.  The Chicago Transit Authority sued the Transportation Department as well as its Federal Transit Administration.  The lawsuit accused the federal government of withholding more than nine-million dollars in reimbursements from grants previously approved under former President Joe Biden.  However, the order is stayed until Friday morning to allow time for the federal government to appeal.
