The Cubs Clinch The Top NL Wild Card Spot While The White Sox Lose To The Nationals

Michael Busch hit 2 home runs and drove in 4 runs on Saturday as the Chicago Cubs clinched the top NL wild card spot following a 7-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Sieya Suzuki also had home runs as the Cubs have won 3 out of 4 games.

Jameson Taillon threw 6 innings for his 11th win.

The Cubs will host San Diego in the first round of the playoffs. Game 1 of the best-of-three series is on Tuesday.

Nolan Arenando and Jordan Walker had home runs for the Cardinals.

The Cubs look for the 3-game sweep in the series on Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

The Washington Nationals scored 3 runs in the 7th inning Saturday as they beat the Chicago White Sox 6-5.

James Wood had a solo home run in the inning for the Nationals. Jacob Young and Daylen Lile also went deep.

The White Sox have lost 6 out of their last 7 games. They had home runs from Colson Montgomery and Brooks Baldwin.
