(Secaucus, NJ) — The Maple Leafs are lucky beyond reasonable belief. The team claimed the top pick in the upcoming NHL draft despite having the fifth-best odds. Their selection would have went to the Bruins if it fell outside of the top-five.
The Sharks soared from the ninth spot to claim the second-overall pick while the Canucks dropped from the odds-on-favorite to land Number-1 and will now select third.
The Blackhawks and Rangers round out the top-five picks in the draft, with Round One taking place in Buffalo on June 26th.
