Tails Pet of the Week: Canelo here! and I’m hoping my forever family is out there somewhere! I’m a 7½-year-old guy with a big personality, a love for treats, and a whole lot of love to give.
I recently went on a Dogs Day Out, and I did GREAT! I was comfortable in the car, enjoyed getting out for a walk, and loved taking in everything happening around me. I’m a medium-energy guy who enjoys getting out and exploring, but I can also be a pretty calm dude.
I’m working on my manners, too. I know how to sit and give paw, and I’ve been practicing “PLACE” and staying there until I’m released. I even tried a treadmill to help me learn to slow down and enjoy a calmer walking pace. I did really well for my first try! I’m also VERY food motivated. I’m always ready for a snack!
I’m looking for a family who understands that I’m a work in progress and will give me the time, structure, patience, and love I need to become the best version of myself. In return, I’ll give you plenty of affection and hopefully lots of adventures!
