Sycamore Promotes Ryan Hooper to Deputy Police Chief

SYCAMORE — Sergeant Ryan Hooper has been promoted to deputy chief of the Sycamore Police Department, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of former Deputy Chief Jeff Wig in March. Hooper was sworn in during the Sycamore City Council meeting on Monday, July 21, and will oversee the Patrol Operations Division alongside Chief Erik Mahan and Deputy Chief Joseph Meeks, who leads the Investigations and Support Services Division. Hooper joined the department in 2012 and has held various roles including detective and patrol sergeant, with prior experience at the North Aurora Police Department and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
