Sycamore Council Awards Contract for Wyman Street Culvert Project

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore City Council on Monday night approved a resolution awarding a $105,900 contract to Elliott and Wood Inc. of DeKalb for the 2026 Wyman Street box culvert project. The project includes removal of existing box and pipe culverts on Wyman Street that have reached the end of their useful life and replacement with a 43 inch by 68 inch elliptical storm sewer with erosion protection at the downstream end. The council also authorized the city manager to execute any documents needed to complete the contract. City staff said bids were received March 19 and Elliott and Wood submitted the lowest of seven bids. Staff said the contractor indicated the project can be completed by a target date of July 10, 2026, weather permitting.
