Suspect In Hit And Run That Killed Teen In Crystal Lake Is Dead

CRYSTAL LAKE  —  The suspect in a hit and run crash last week that killed a 15-year-old Crystal Lake boy is dead.  A driver fled after hitting Nick Laureys last Wednesday while he was riding his bicycle in unincorporated Crystal Lake.  The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office say police responding to a death investigation on July 4th at a home in Woodstock located a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the crash.  The person found dead in the home was identified as the suspect in the deadly hit-and-run.  Authorities are no longer searching for additional suspects.
