Strong Winds Raise Dust And Fire Danger In Northern Illinois

ROCHELLE — Strong southwest winds gusting over 30 miles per hour late this morning into the afternoon are expected to cause patchy blowing dust across northern Illinois, especially in open farm areas, which could reduce visibility in some locations. The combination of gusty winds, warm temperatures and low afternoon humidity is also increasing the risk of fires.
