Stillhouse Junkies and Dan Holmes to Perform in Bishop Hill on March 30

BISHOP HILL, Illinois — Acoustic group Stillhouse Junkies and Christian folk singer Dan Holmes will perform live on Sunday, March 30, at the Bishop Hill Creative Commons. The event will begin with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by music at 7 p.m. The concert is open to guests of all ages, with a suggested donation of $20-30 for admission. Holmes will open the show, setting the stage for the high-energy performance by Stillhouse Junkies.

Stillhouse Junkies, known for their unique blend of roots, bluegrass, Texas swing, blues, and rock, will headline the evening. Their music is characterized by intricate compositions and improvisation, ensuring that no two performances are the same. The trio, based in Durango, Colorado, features Fred Kosak on guitar and mandolin, Alissa Wolf on fiddle, and Matt Thomas on upright bass.

Formed in 2017, Stillhouse Junkies will release their fourth album in early 2025. The band’s tight vocal harmonies and energetic instrumentals earned them the International Bluegrass Music Association’s “Momentum Band of the Year” award in 2021. They have performed at major festivals, including the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Merle Fest, and Rockygrass, and have shared stages with acts like Willie Carlisle and Asleep at the Wheel.

Dan Holmes, who will open the show, is a Christian folk singer known for his gentle, hopeful messages through music. Holmes brings an old-school singer/songwriter style that focuses on celebrating faith and the blessings in life.
