Starved Rock Hosts Winter Eagle Watching Weekend

OGLESBY — Starved Rock State Park will host an eagle-watching weekend Jan. 24-25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering guided hikes, programs, activities and exhibits at multiple locations in the area. Visitors can explore the Starved Rock State Park Visitors Center, Starved Rock Lodge, and Illinois Waterway Visitors Center while observing bald eagles in their winter habitat. The events are part of statewide efforts by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to allow families and nature enthusiasts to see the national bird during the winter months when eagles gather near open water for fishing.
