Spring Lake Pool Sees Strong Attendance in June

ROCHELLE — Spring Lake Pool reported 6,671 visitors as of June 15, marking one of its busiest early seasons in the past five years and well above the 2021 low of 4,664. The Flagg-Rochelle Park District credited the staff for covering extra shifts to allow longer breaks for lifeguards throughout the day. Weekend swims offered at no cost have also helped draw more patrons.

Jackee Ohlinger, Executive Director of the Flagg-Rochelle Park District, said the staff really have stepped up to make this a great summer so far.

“We’ve been very thankful that our staff has been so cooperative and able to accommodate additional staffing for extra breaks, longer breaks,” she said.

“Our patrons are allowing for a little bit longer break at each hour to give our guards the ample amount of time to get out of the sun, cool off, and relax before they can get back up onto the guard stand to make sure that everyone’s safe and having a great time at Spring Lake Pool.”
