JOLIET – Representative Lauren Underwood announced a proposed $1,778,762 federal funding request for renovations at the Flewellin Memorial Library in Shabbona Township. The request is under consideration for fiscal year 2027 and is not yet funded. The proposal would upgrade the aging facility to improve safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency. Officials said the work would support education, literacy, and community use of the library.
