Severe Weather To Bear Down On Midwest, Cleanup Begins From Recent Storms

WEST BROOKLYN – Another round of severe weather could be on the way as cleanup begins from the storms late Sunday night.  The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reports that some roadways may still be blocked this morning in rural areas, especially areas near Shaw Road and Inlet Road and US Route 30 near Brooklyn Road.  Multiple trees were reported down, as well as power outages across northern Illinois, but nature isn’t done yet. Starting today, a level two out of four severe storm threat is covering most of the upper midwest. Damaging winds are expected to be the primary hazard.  Widespread rain totals of up to three inches could also be seen by mid-week.  Localized pockets of three to five inches of rain are possible.
