MENDOTA — A second Mendota High School student has died from injuries suffered in the July 3 single vehicle crash on Illinois Route 251 in LaSalle County. Superintendent Denise Aughenbaugh identified the student as Aubri Gonzalez, a member of the Class of 2030. Jeniah Francis also died in the crash. Illinois State Police continue to investigate. The school will offer grief counseling for students Thursday and asked the community to respect the family’s privacy.
