BISHOP HILL, Ill. — Baseball fans can hear behind the scenes stories from the world of professional scouting when Tim Pletkovich presents “Confessions of a Baseball Scout” on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Steeple Building Museum in Bishop Hill. The free program begins at 1 p.m. and is open to the public. Pletkovich began evaluating amateur free agents for the Philadelphia Phillies at age 14 and later joined the Chicago Cubs organization at age 21, becoming the youngest paid scout in Major League Baseball at the time. During the presentation, he will share stories and insights from his time scouting for the Cubs during the 1980s. The event is hosted by the Bishop Hill Heritage Association and will be held at the Steeple Building Museum, 103 North Bishop Hill Street.
